German activists are attempting to destroy security cameras in anticipation of the European Police Congress in Berlin in February, according to Michael Ebeling, an opponent of public surveillance writing for France 24′s The Observers. The group organizing the actions, CAMOVER, believe such cameras lead police to discriminate and use stereotypes in search of criminals and criminal activity. They are encouraging people to participate in the “game” until Feb. 19, when the congress convenes. A debate over surveillance cameras was ignited in late 2012 after an attempted bomb attack in a Bonn train station, when cameras did not store recordings citeste si comenteaza …

Last week, the Senate approved to renew the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) program whereby the US government is authorized to spy on emails and phone calls of suspected terrorists (allegedly not American citizens) without court-ordered warrants. The Congress supports the use of FISA for another 5 years. To appease the general public, Congress added an amendment to FISA that requires the government to reveal whether or not American citizens were surveilled during operations or perhaps mixed-up in foreign intelligence interceptions. However, this amendment was disregarded and voted down. Both the Senate Intelligence Committee and the Obama administration stressed citeste si comenteaza …

With more western countries getting indirectly involved in the conflict in Mali, there’s increasing speculation about their motives. Journalist and broadcaster Neil Clark told RT, that the intervention has ‘only economic reasons’. Several western countries have already offered France, which is to boost its force to 2,500 soldiers next week, aid in Mali. The UK is providing logistical air assistance, while the United States is providing surveillance and other intelligence help. Washington also announced it will supply transport planes for French forces and consider sending refueling tankers for French warplanes. Canada has joined with the allies to support the on-going military intervention by dispatching a heavy-lift military transport. citeste si comenteaza …

The world is moving step by step towards a de facto Gold Standard, without any meetings of G20 leaders to announce the idea or bless the project. Some readers will already have seen the GFMS Gold Survey for 2012 which reported that central banks around the world bought more bullion last year in terms of tonnage than at any time in almost half a century. They added a net 536 tonnes in 2012 as they diversified fresh reserves away from the four fiat suspects: dollar, euro, sterling, and yen. The Washington Accord, where Britain, Spain, Holland, Switzerland, and others sold a chunk of their gold each year, already seems another era – the Gordon Brown era, you might call it. That was the illusionary period when investors citeste si comenteaza …

While the mainstream media condemns Wayne LaPierre, lobbyist for the National Rifle Association (NRA) for commenting that having armed police officers stationed at schools across the country would curb gun-related crimes committed on campuses because “the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun”, the Sidewell Friends School, where President Obama’s two daughter attend, have 11 security officers and is seeking to hire armed police officers to patrol the campus. Since the Sandy Hook shooting, gun sales have sky-rocketed as Americans are rightly convinced that the Obama administration is going to pass citeste si comenteaza …

The US Congress is contemplating minting a $1 trillion platinum coin under the authorization of Timothy Geithner, US Secretary of Treasury. These platinum coins would be used to pay off the $16.4 trillion debt accrued by US government spending. The US Treasury would keep the coins in its account at the Federal Reserve Bank in Washington, DC. Legally, under Title 31 of the USC, Section 5112, the US Treasury would give the platinum coin any monetary worth, such as $1 trillion, and then deposit into the Federal Reserve Bank to be added against the National Debt. Subsection K reads: “The Secretary may mint and issue platinum bullion coins and proof platinum coins citeste si comenteaza …

In 2050, the UN Population Division says that, after 80% of the population of America has been moved into the Agenda 21 mega-cities, there will be a need to construct vertical farms in order to feed the urbanized residents. Yale researchers assert that in America “78 percent of the population already lives in urban or suburban areas, urban land cover is expected to double by 2030” and with infrastructure investments, current urbanization rates are unsustainable. By eliminating the necessity of trucking food across the country, and growing food in the urbanized centers, the sprawl can be replaced with “greenhouses”. The history of US thuggery in Latin America to promote its own agenda and extort their economies and resources is a long and sordid one. As documented so well in John Perkins’ “Confessions of an Economic Hitman“, when the U.S. greed machine wants something it will methodically use any means necessary to get it. Several new yet not so new dynamics have been surfacing in the news lately that appear to indicate another wave of attacks in the area is in the offing. Not surprising. The US march of tyranny knows no boundaries. After all, it’s not just the US, it’s the fascist global military monster consuming everything in its path and the bloodthirsty US with its easily persuaded populace makes a great henchman.
